Canyon Mist hosts `dusty shoe' debut
US Home is presenting a "dusty shoe" open house from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Canyon Mist Estates in the northwestern valley. "We love doing our `dusty shoe' events," sales executive Vicki Zoot said. "They're all about fun and family and homes." The festivities will include refreshments, a bounce house, digital camera giveaways and a radio remote. Models and the first phase of homes are under construction, hence the name of the open house, Zoot said. "We have timed our releases so that we have homes available for sale now with move-in slated for November. That means you can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner in your new home," she said. Five designs, including three that are single story, are available. The homes measure from 2,550 to 4,500 square feet, and each can be expanded and customized. Three-car garages are standard. "Most (lots offer) space for RV parking," Zoot said. Three homes are under construction and will be ready for occupancy in November. Among them is a single-story Brentwood design, which measures 3,070 square feet with four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. There is also a two-story San Clemente being built. Measuring from 3,880 to 4,500 square feet, the plan offers five to seven bedrooms, a loft and three baths. The third home, a two-story Coronado, has a turret foyer, formal dining and living rooms, a great room, and a kitchen nook with a bay window. The master suite provides a sitting area, dual walk-in closets and an optional fireplace and wet bar. At 4,402 square feet, the plan offers three to five bedrooms and four baths. A walled courtyard entry is optional. The residences are priced from the low $600,000s. The gated neighborhood features desert landscaping and a park. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. From the interstate, go east to Jones Boulevard, head north to Elkhorn Road and follow signs.
