Couple purchase Siena home, participate in active lifestyle

David and Zahava Gerstenfeld said they moved into the age-qualified community of Siena in Summerlin for the social activities and recreational events.
"We bought the whole Siena lifestyle," Zahava Gerstenfeld said. "Siena has given us so much more than we ever expected. We love it. David and I wanted to meet interesting people our age. We have made really good friends already. Siena uses activities to bring homeowners together and they have certainly succeeded."
The Gerstenfelds attended the Siena Academy Awards dinner party, the Fourth of July barbecue, the Hawaiian luau, and will participate in the interactive theatrical event, "Murder Mystery Dinner," in the community's Grille restaurant.
David Gerstenfeld is a member of the community's poker group and plans to take up golf.
The 15,000-square-foot golf club will include a pro shop, a practice and learning facility and the Siena Grille, with a dining patio.
One-third of the community's 1,900 homes will align the course.
The community also features a guarded gate, and guards patrol the neighborhoods on a 24-hour basis.
The 40,000-square-foot community center will have a restaurant overlooking the golf course's lake. It will also contain arts and crafts facilities, meeting rooms, a library, grand ballroom and theater with seating for more than 400, card rooms, a billiards room, computer lab and business center.
The 15,900-square-foot fitness center, slated to open in late fall, will have a cardiovascular and weight room, a wellness center, saunas, steam rooms, massage rooms, and a 25-meter indoor lap pool.
Outdoor amenities will include lighted tennis courts, bocce courts, a lap and resort pool, and hiking and biking trails.
The community's 14 floor plans range from 1,200 to more than 3,000 square feet.
Customizing options are available, and interior designers are available to assist buyers.
To visit, take Sahara Avenue to Town Center Drive, turn south and follow the signs.
The sales office and model homes are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily."Lt. Clodumbo" (actor Jerry Brodsky), right, will preside at a "Murder Mystery Dinner," at Siena next week. The interactive dinner theater is one of the many activities included in the Siena age-qualified community.
