Southern Terrace celebrates grand opening

The grand opening of Southern Terrace by Perma-Bilt Homes is scheduled for today, as the builder unveils 15 model homes and a community sales center.

Refreshments will be served from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the model-home park.

The community consists of four neighborhoods, offering a total of 15 floor plans ranging from 1,379 to more than 3,500 square feet. Prices start from the $150,000s to the low $300,000s.

More than 120 homes have been reserved at the community, according to sales and marketing executive Ruth Ochoa.

"Buyers have responded well to the range of floor plans and prices offered at Southern Terrace," she said.

The homes at Ridgemont, a single-story neighborhood featuring four floor plans ranging from 2,223 to 2,759 square feet, include courtyard entries and split three-car garages. Prices start from the $230,000s.

Autumn Hills' four designs measure from 1,563 to 1,953 square feet, while Somerset contains floor plans ranging from 1,379 to 2,467 square feet. The homes at Somerset feature a library, kitchen with island and tandem three-car garage. Options include a bonus room, loft, retreat and as many as five bedrooms.

Prices for both neighborhoods start from the $150,000s.

The Monterey neighborhood consists of three two-story floor plans, ranging from 2,860 to 3,500 square feet. Prices start from the high $200,000s. Amenities include split three-car garages, owner retreats, courtyard entries, optional bonus rooms, patios, home offices, libraries and as many as six bedrooms.

The community's Southern Terrace Club is situated on a two-acre site that will feature two swimming pools, a playground, picnic and barbecue area, health club with workout room, saunas, locker rooms, and a massage facility. A full-time director will be on-site. Construction is under way with completion expected later this year.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Russell Road and go west. Turn left on Fort Apache Road, then right on Oquendo Road. The sales center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.
