Siena residents, security officers like familySPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
The majority of home buyers at Siena chose to live within the age-qualified community because of its guard-gated entry and location in Summerlin, according to a recent survey of residents. "Security features are a major part of the Siena community, from the 24-hour guard-gated entrance to the professional safety officers who patrol the community," said Paul Smith, senior vice president and project manager. "Siena is a close-knit community, and our safety officers are treated as though they are part of the family here." Security officer Lt. Mark Wilson agreed. "I've been at Siena from day one and I want to stay here," Wilson said. "I'm happy watching this community grow. You should see how the residents spoil us with baked goodies on holidays." The officers are trained to assist with medical emergencies. Most of them are CPR-certified and some are trained to use equipment that monitors the heart and relays information to responding medical personnel. In addition, all homes are equipped with a front porch emergency light, which flashes when accessed from inside the home, thereby alerting neighbors and security that there is a problem. The security staff also helps out with minor crises, such as searching for a lost pet or jump-starting a car battery. Upon request, they also conduct house checks for residents who are out of town. A private, tree-lined road leads to the guard house, which features the same Italian-style architecture as the community. Buyers can choose from five collections of homes and 14 single-story floor plans, ranging from 1,200 to 3,000 square feet. Each plan offers three exterior designs, and options such as courtyard fireplaces and casitas. Homes are priced from the $160,000s to the $600,000s. About one-third of the 665-acre community's 1,900 homes will align Siena's 18-hole championship golf course, which is open to the public. A golf shop, practice facility and restaurant are also open. Residents have access to the 15,900-square-foot fitness center, which features an indoor swim pavilion with a 25-meter pool, spa, and two-story windows that overlook the golf course; an outdoor pool and spa; and lighted tennis and bocce courts. The fitness center also has cardiovascular, weight and exercise rooms as well as saunas and steam rooms. A wellness center is on-site to provide educational resources, seminars and health screenings for residents. In addition, a full-service beauty salon and day spa are available. The social center houses a computer lab, arts and crafts room, ballroom, and billiard and card rooms. A full-time activities director oversees a variety of classes and events. To tour the model village, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 to Town Center Drive, go south to Siena Monte Avenue and turn left. The sales office is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunrise Colony Co. is also developing Red Rock Country Club in Summerlin.
