First phase on track at Viera condos
Lake Las Vegas Resort will soon be home to Viera, an 800-unit condominium development. Construction of the first phase, which will include as many as 177 units, is on schedule with an anticipated opening next spring. Developed by Intrawest, the Mediterranean-style complex offers four floor plans, including studios, as well as some units with as many as three bedrooms and three baths. Homes measure from 500 to 3,000 square feet and are priced from $250,000 to $1 million. Features include balconies that offer views of the 2,600-acre community, including its 320-acre lake. "We are offering these amazing resort condominiums through a special reservation program," said Jack Christie, sales and marketing executive at the resort. Also slated to open next year at the resort is MonteLago Village, which will include a 350-room Ritz-Carlton Hotel, spa, casino, boutiques, waterfront restaurants and cafés, offices, and condominiums. A Florentine-style pedestrian bridge will link the lake's northern and southern shores. Residential options range from waterfront residences and custom-home sites to golf villas and townhomes. SouthShore, a 550-acre gated development, has custom lots available in various enclaves with views of the lake, mountains and golf courses. Prices range from the $300,000s to more than $2 million. Waterfront villas, executive homes and golf villas overlooking the private SouthShore Golf Club are included. On the northern shore, homes are available adjacent to the public Reflection Bay Golf Club and are priced from $400,000 to more than $1 million. In addition, semicustom townhomes and European-style villas are available. Potential buyers can take a free 45-minute water taxi ride from Reflection Bay to the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort and along the SouthShore development. Resident amenities include a full-service marina and the private SouthShore Yacht & Beach Club. The third golf course at Lake Las Vegas Resort is scheduled to open in September. The Falls Golf Club, designed by Tom Weiskopf, will be open to the public. The fourth course, the Tom Fazio-designed Rainbow Canyon Golf Club, is planned.
