Terra West property nets association award
The Hidden Canyon community association has been named Large Association of the Year by the Southern Nevada chapter of the Community Association Institute. Comprised of 756 homes, Hidden Canyon is located in North Las Vegas and managed by Terra West Property Management. "The Board of Hidden Canyon has taken great strides to improve the appearance, property values, financial position and morale of the community," said Penny Wood, Terra West property manager. "It is a very active and involved board that is dedicated to maintaining and improving property values." The award is based primarily on a board's efforts to educate homeowners and themselves about association issues. Board members are required to attend seminars on how to communicate effectively with homeowners and how to best make improvements in the community. "Homeowner CC&R violations have decreased by 50 percent in the last year because of effective communication by the board, the consistent application of the CC&Rs, and the homeowners' renewed pride in their community," Wood said. "We at Terra West have been pleased to help guide the many changes that have made Hidden Canyon such a beautiful and desirable community today. They definitely deserve this recognition." Terra West has managed the property for three years. The company's community association division currently manages 160 associations consisting of more than 45,000 homes. The residential leasing division manages more than 1,000 properties valleywide.
