Anthropology bug buys Vistana condo
The resort atmosphere at Rhodes Homes' Vistana condominium complex at Rhodes Ranch appealed to Cindy McMillan, a management assistant in the Anthropology Department at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. "I love the exotic resort-style feel of the community," she said. "The architectural detail caught my eye and the great value locked me in." McMillan, a three-year Las Vegas resident from Baltimore, was pleased to learn that she only needed to put 1 percent down to buy her home at the southwestern valley development. "The financing options were great and very affordable. I also love the tax advantages from homeownership that will soon be coming my way," she said. She also likes the neighborhood's location. McMillan selected the 796-square-foot Lisbon model, a split-level floor plan that features one bedroom, one bath and an attached garage. "I also loved the fireplace and the mountain views from my own private balcony patio," she said. "A friend recommended I check out Vistana and I am pleased I did. Vistana's truly the place to be." The condominium development offers nine models, priced from the $70,000s to more than $100,000. Three floor plans feature one bedroom and one bath, measuring from 670 to 796 square feet; five two-bedroom and two-bath homes range from 847 to more than 1,200 square feet. The Venice plan measures 1,413 square feet and includes three bedrooms and two baths. Each home includes an appliance package and window coverings. Shared amenities at the complex include three planned swimming pools, a fitness center and spa. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Durango Drive and go south to Warm Springs Road, following the signs. The sales office and model homes are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
