Beacon Hill takes shape inside Mountain's Edge

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Beacon Hill at Mountain's Edge townhomes is designed as an urban-type development with a resort-style atmosphere.

"Beacon Hill is patterned after the exquisite neighborhoods of Beacon Hill in Boston, where homes are passed down from one generation to another," marketing director Lindsey Thomas said. "Our homes will reflect that gentrification and will exude the same type of upscale ambience."

Mountain's Edge is a master-planned community in development in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley. It is planned to include schools, parks, walking trails, shopping centers and shaded streets.

"Beacon Hill offers a carefree lifestyle with a clubhouse, swimming pool, spa and fitness center, all within a gated neighborhood," Thomas said. "That's the carefree lifestyle part of Beacon Hill. The gated entry and landscaping are maintained by the association, as are the clubhouse, pool and spa. Our residents have the security of locking their homes and going on vacation without worrying about who will mow the lawn and keep the pool clean."

Four three-story floor plans are available, ranging from the two-bedroom, three-bath Caisson model at 1,647 square feet to the 2,215-square-foot Timbalier design with three bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and an elevator option.

Prices start from the mid-$350,000s.

Each home has a private rear courtyard; a covered patio; and an 8-foot-high, six-panel front door.

"To fulfill Energy Star requirements, each home has a programmable thermostat, white-framed windows and sliding glass doors with low-e panes, ground-mounted air-conditioning and heating systems, R-13 insulation in the walls and R-30 insulation in the ceilings, and 50-gallon water heaters," Thomas said. "There was a time when people really didn't pay attention to the blanket wrapped around the house, but smart homeowners today realize a tight house saves energy."

The kitchens showcase flat-panel oak cabinets with concealed hinges, granite counter tops and an appliance package. The master bedrooms and family rooms are wired for ceiling fans.

Additional features include 2 1/2-inch baseboards, dual-zone heating and air-conditioning systems, category-5 wiring for high-speed Internet and fax access, and pre-plumbing for soft-water loops.

"Each home has a two-bay garage, with the Cassion, the smallest tri-level, offering the bays in tandem," Thomas said. "The garages are finished to enhance the overall look of the product."

The builder has single-family homes available at Rivendell at Mountain's Edge.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to Blue Diamond Road, travel west to Buffalo Drive and turn left.

The company is also developing Copper Creek, Somerset, Jasmine Ranch, Diamante and Falcon Ridge, and plans to introduce another seven. Montrose at Canyon Crest is open for sales in Mesquite.

Engle Homes is a division of Technical Olympic USA Inc., a home building and financial services company. Engle has been constructing homes for more than 25 years, and is also active in Florida, Pennsylania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Colorado, Arizona and Washington, D.C.
