Contractors honored for quality assurance efforts
The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association has issued diplomas to the second class of local trade contracting companies that completed the preliminary phase of the association's Quality Assurance Program launched late last year. Implementation Completion Diplomas were presented April 17 to: B.D. Trim Co. Inc., Campbell Concrete of Nevada, Efficient Electric, Metro Electric, MS Concrete, Sierra Air Conditioning, Sunrise Carpentry and Sunrise Mechanical. Each company has appointed a quality representative, developed a customized quality assurance manual, and implemented a process that will ensure the Quality Assurance Program makes it to the field. The completion is the first step in national certification in quality assurance from the National Association of Home Builders Research Center. Twelve companies received their diplomas in December, and the third class started the program earlier this month. The program is a partnership between local home builders and trade contractors designed to enhance the quality of homes through training, education and national certification of the trade contractors and their workforce. Although many home builders have quality assurance programs, the association's program is designed to provide a higher level of uniform quality assurance standards.
