Metropolis provides loft, flat living

Metropolis, a high-rise residence building presented by developer Randall Davis, introduces a style of living he considers new to Las Vegas.

The 18-floor development features 18 floor plans, with 65 total units. Each is either a flat or a loft.

"Metropolis is a new concept for Las Vegas," Davis said. "Lofts and flats are common in major cities, and now we are bringing them to Las Vegas."

The condominiums measure from 930 to 4,540 square feet, and prices range from $400,000 to $2.25 million.

Traditionally, lofts were upper floors of a warehouse converted to a residence. Today, they are condominiums with high ceilings, large windows, and an open living space, while flats are one-story units.

Metropolis has 11 loft floor plans available, and each two-story unit comes with 19-foot, 6-inch ceilings; wood flooring; cabinets; carpeting; lighting; and a choice of 22 types of marble/granite.

Also offered are seven flat floor plans, and each includes a 10-foot, 9-inch ceiling.

Buyers pay a maintenance fee that includes concierge service in the lobby, private wine cellar with a caterer's kitchen for parties, a fitness facility and views of a golf course and the Las Vegas Strip.

During the first month of reservations, Metropolis has been nearly one-third reserved, according to Davis.

The sales office is located at 360 E. Desert Inn Road. Hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
