Buyers impressed by Vistana's surroundings

It was the wide open space around the Vistana at Rhodes Ranch condominium complex that convinced Jim and Doris Pomerening to move from Diamond Bar, Calif., to Las Vegas.

"I love the northern view to the mountains and the lush landscaping around Vistana," said Jim Pomerening, a former professor at California Polytechnic Institute, Pomona. "The area is just getting started which means you get the good values early."

Doris Pomerening said their California community had become too crowded, and that they were happy to be in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley.

They purchased the two-bedroom, 900-square-foot Florence model at the Rhodes Homes development in the southwestern valley.

"The price was right and it was just enough space for the two of us," Jim Pomerening said, adding he appreciated the closet space.

"I like the creativity they put into the homes at Vistana," Doris Pomerening said. "I was also impressed that the patio was included."

The Pomerenings were also pleased with the variety of age groups residing at the complex.

Three of the floor plans feature one bedroom and one bath in 670 to 796 square feet. Five two-bedroom, two-bath homes range from 847 to 1,200 square feet. There is also the three-bedroom, two-bath Venice floor plan, which measures 1,413 square feet. Prices start from the mid-$70,000s to the mid-$130,000s.

Each home includes an appliance package and window coverings.

Shared amenities include a pool, two-story fitness center and spa. Another pool is under construction and a third water amenity is planned.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Durango Drive, go south to Warm Springs Road and follow the signs.

The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
