Frequent golfing leads to second Sun City Anthem purchase
After purchasing a home at Del Webb Corp.'s Sun City Anthem less than a year ago, longtime California residents Jerry and Beverly Bullerdick are building another one at the age-qualified community. "Jerry is in the men's golf league and I'm in the ladies golf league," Beverly Bullerdick said. "We love living in Sun City Anthem, but wanted a bit more room, especially for the golf carts." Jerry Bullerdick, who worked for a company that repairs and rebuilds turbine engines in Mexicali, Mexico, said he and his wife enjoyed visiting the Las Vegas area as tourists and considered it to be an ideal place to retire. "We are used to hot weather. In fact, the Las Vegas Valley has cooler winters, which I enjoy. Being in Nevada is wonderful. I used to have to drive 110 miles for basic services or shopping. Now, everything I want is right here," he said. The couple selected the Cambridge model. "The Cambridge is part of our Premier series," sales manager Lorraine Roberts said. "It's one of the most popular home designs, offering many optional design opportunities, and features two bedrooms, a great room and optional guest suite with 1,996 livable square feet." In addition to golf cart storage and an additional 500 square feet, the Bullerdicks will gain a fireplace and a third bedroom. The community's amenities also appeal to the couple. "The Revere at Anthem is a challenging course," Beverly Bullerdick said. "The views from the course are spectacular and we enjoy having breakfast at Buckman's restaurant at The Revere Golf Club before a round of golf." The Revere at Anthem offers two 18-hole championship golf courses. Anthem Center is the central amenity and offers fitness, social and recreational opportunities for residents, as well as Trumpets Restaurant and Lounge, which is open to the public. Nineteen models measure from 1,080 to 3,009 square feet. Prices start from the low $140,000s to more than $500,000. To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway. Models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
