Las Ventanas' sister property opens in Dallas

Greystone Communities, developers of Las Ventanas, a life care community planned in Summerlin, recently announced the grand opening of Edgemere, a life care community in Dallas with a similar design.

"Edgemere is an excellent example of the uniqueness of a new Greystone life care community," said Suzanne Caldarello, marketing director for Las Ventanas. "Because of the similarities between Edgemere and Las Ventanas, we're offering qualified Las Vegas seniors the opportunity to visit our sister community in Dallas to experience firsthand the quality of a Greystone life care community."

Greystone has operated in the senior housing market for more than 20 years, building more than 40 such developments in the United States.

In addition, Greystone has worked with more than 250 sponsors in the development and management of senior living communities spread throughout the nation.

Las Ventanas is planned for the corner of Charleston Boulevard and Town Center Drive.

The 17-acre development will feature independent- living apartments, as well as 60 private assisted-living suites, and 60 private skilled-nursing care rooms, all connected by an interior walkway.

Residents will experience a maintenance-free life with such amenities and services as all-electric kitchens, washers and dryers, 24-hour emergency call systems, security, storage areas, and paid utilities (except telephone).

Also included are meals, weekly housekeeping and linen service, valet parking, basic cable television, health and wellness programs, activities, and concierge services.

Additional plans include fitness and enclosed aquatic centers, event lawn, performing arts center, dining room, several private dining areas, a library and lounge, cyber cafe, business center, and beauty salon.

"Las Ventanas is the only community where residents may choose from different residency plan options ranging from full-service life care to continuing care. Additionally, choices range from full-service, a 15-meal a month plan or residents may opt not to have housekeeping or meals service," Caldarello said.

Residents may choose a traditional payment plan or opt for one that allows for 90 percent of the entrance fee to be refunded at any time.

The information center is located in Hughes Plaza at 10000 W. Charleston Blvd. and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment.
