Summer debut set for Siena Community Center

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Siena Community Center is another step closer to reality, as construction continues on what will be the hub of social activity for residents of the age-qualified community in Summerlin. The designer is Altevers Associates of San Diego.

"Their sophisticated use of European-inspired domes and arches and their flair for detail has us looking forward to the completion of the center with great anticipation," John Holden, senior vice president and project manager for Siena, said. "We are also pleased to once again be working with Roel Construction, who in addition to building Siena's 15,900-square-foot Tuscan-themed health and fitness center, constructed Sunrise Colony Co.'s award-winning Red Rock Country Club golf clubhouse.

"Our residents are anxious to get in the new building and expand on their second childhood. We have been conducting hard-hat tours ... with homeowner representatives since the very beginning that have been both educational and helpful for our residents."

Scott Christiansen, project manager for Roel Construction, said the 39,000-square-foot structure will be completed in late summer.

"We are happy to report that construction is right on schedule. Currently, we are in the final stages of rough framing and we have begun working on the stucco exterior, roofing and interior," he said.

The arts and activities wing will feature a computer learning center, painting area, sewing and quilting center, arts and ceramics, a music room, as well as billiards, cards, darts and shuffleboard.

The other wing will house a grand ballroom. At 17,600 square feet, it will accommodate as many as 500 people in theater seating, or 300 people for dinner/dances. The ballroom will also host theater performances.

Bob Brandt, a resident of Siena, is delighted about the new social center.

"My wife and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this November, and we have already reserved the ballroom for the party," he said.

Also included will be a business center, library, meeting rooms and offices.

The health and fitness center has indoor and outdoor pools, spas, exercise equipment, saunas, steam rooms, a wellness center, and a salon and day spa.

The 18-hole, daily-fee golf course is anchored by a clubhouse with a pro shop and restaurant. Siena Golf Club is open to all ages, however, residents receive special rates and preferred tee times.

Six collections featuring 18 single-story floor plans are available, ranging from 1,040 to 3,200 square feet. Each offers three exterior designs.

Homes are priced from the $150,000s to the $400,000s, plus site premiums.

To visit, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 to Town Center Drive, go south to Siena Monte Avenue and turn left. The model village is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
