Rolladen, Star partner in promotion

Rolladen Rolling Shutters and Star Nursery have joined forces to promote energy conservation. Beginning today, when an order is placed with Rolladen, the customer will receive a coupon good for a 15-gallon shade tree from Star.

The promotion ends June 1.

"The combination of Rolladen and Star Nursery in a promotion ... is a natural, because they're both Las Vegas-based companies that are No. 1 in each of their categories. We couldn't be happier, and having Star on board is like adding the ideal component to protect homeowners from skyrocketing power bills," Rolladen franchise owner Fran Minnozzi said.

The shutters are foam-filled aluminum slats that cover windows, doors and dog doors. They can be operated manually or electrically, and can reduce power consumption by as much as 64 percent.

Liz Helmke, advertising manager for Star Nursery, is delighted about the partnership.

"With the trees and the shutters, the homeowners will not only be able to conserve energy, but add beauty and value to their home at the same time," she said. "Trees help clean the air and provide a soothing, cooling effect to the landscape."

Coupon holders can select a tree from among 30 varieties at Star. Among the more popular, according to Helmke, are ash, mesquite, pink dawn chitalpa, African sumac, mondell pine and California pepper.
