"I'm originally from St. Louis, and this community is very friendly; it has a Midwestern feel unlike other areas of Las Vegas," Grant said. "My fiancée, Candace Story, and I walk our dogs quite a bit in the neighborhood and everyone always waves and says hello."

Grant and Story chose a 2,616-square-foot plan, the smallest at the gated neighborhood.

"We didn't want something too big, yet we have a gigantic home site," Grant said. "We appreciate the ranch-style community and definitely wanted to live in a single-story home. The architecture is great, the layout of the kitchen and great room is wonderful for entertaining."

The design offers a courtyard, three bedrooms, a den, 2 1/2 baths, a formal dining or living room, great room, and a two- or three-car garage. It is priced from the $580,000s.

The neighborhood features four single-story floor plans on lots measuring at least one-quarter acre. Fewer than 30 home sites remain, according to Randy Char, general sales manager.

A 3,064-square-foot design features three bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, formal living and dining rooms, a family room and two-car garage. Two additional bedrooms are optional. The floor plan is priced from the $610,000s.

Priced from the $640,000s, the 3,591-square-foot plan features a courtyard, five bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths, formal living and dining rooms, and an extended three-car garage.

At 3,816 square feet, the largest home offers a courtyard, four bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths, a formal dining room, master bedroom retreat and an extended three-car garage. A fifth bedroom is optional. It is priced from the $660,000s.

Each features two-tone interior paint with 5-inch baseboards, ceramic-tile flooring, prewiring for ceiling fans, a fireplace and covered patio. Structured wiring is featured in all homes, which are also wired for theater-style sound.

The homes are built to exceed the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star standards with Platinum Plus Environments For Living technology, which includes a three-year heating and cooling energy-use guarantee.

The builder's smooth sales process was a bonus for the couple.

"Candace sells real estate and is constantly bringing her clients to Pulte Homes' communities. This is a true testament to Pulte Homes' quality," Grant said.

Within the neighborhood is a 2-acre park with basketball courts and a gazebo.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 north to the Interstate 215 east exit, head east to Sky Pointe Drive and turn right. Proceed to Tenaya Way, turn left and follow the signs to Elkhorn Road. The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Monday, when it opens at noon.

The builder offers 19 active subdivisions in Southern Nevada and has operations in more than 40 markets nationwide.
