Summerlin hunt provides egg-citing day
The ninth annual Egg Hunt recently was held in the Summerlin master-planned community. Despite the rainy weather, hundreds of residents turned out for the annual event, which featured traditional candy gathering and lots of activities for children. The hunt was one of more than a dozen events organized by the Summerlin Council, the nonprofit arm of the Summerlin Community Association that manages the community's social, recreational and sports activities. Summerlin is home to more than 55,000 residents living in more than a dozen villages. It has eight golf courses, 12 major parks, more than 45 neighborhood parks, more than 45 completed miles of trails, houses of worship, cultural facilities, business parks, shopping centers and medical centers. Single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums are priced from less than $100,000 to more than $700,000. Custom lots from one-quarter acre to three-quarters of an acre are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $1 million, and predesigned custom homes are priced from $500,000 to more than $1 million. Apartments offer monthly rents from the $700s. To visit the community's home finding center, travel west on Sahara Avenue, past Hualapai Way, to Town Center Drive. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara. The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
