Family chooses Pardee's Silver Tree

Jason and Roxanne Aranas believe the southwestern valley is growing, so they purchased a home there in Pardee Homes' Nevada Trails community.

"We think this area is going to continue to boom," said Jason Aranas, a financial advisor.

The Aranas have one daughter, and are expecting another child soon after their home is finished in July. They chose Nevada Trails for its family environment, and the energy-saving features contained within each home.

All homes feature the ComfortWise energy-saving package, and each has earned the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label.

Due to low-e windows, an engineered HVAC system and other energy-saving features, the homes use an estimated 30 percent less energy than standard homes.

The Aranas chose a home at Silver Tree, which features floor plans ranging from 2,000 to 3,844 square feet with as many as seven bedrooms, four baths and two- or three-car garages. Prices range from $203,450 to $258,950.

"I know building a new house is supposed to be hard. But thanks to Pardee, this has actually been an enjoyable process," Jason Aranas said. "We love watching it be built."

The couple chose Plan Four, which measures 3,370 square feet, contains four to seven bedrooms, three baths, a bonus room and a three-car garage. Featuring a turret entry and a two-story rounded alcove, the home starts at $258,950.

Nevada Trails' Manzanita neighborhood features four flexible floor plans measuring from 1,414 to 2,566 square feet. The homes provide as many as five bedrooms, two to three baths, and two- or three-car garages. Prices range from $167,450 to $209,450.

The gated Saddle Peak enclave has all single-story homes, priced from $250,950 to $270,950. Three floor plans range from 2,565 to 3,025 square feet and offer as many as five bedrooms, three baths and a three-car garage.

To visit Nevada Trails, take Interstate 215 to Rainbow Boulevard, go south to Robindale Road and turn right into the model park. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m.

Pardee Homes has built homes for more than 25,000 families in Nevada since 1952. It is also developing the Rancho Las Palmas and Eldorado communities.
