Luxury comes together at Lake Las Vegas
Basking in the sun, taking a sunset cruise, golfing on world-class courses and getting a massage are everyday activities for residents of Lake Las Vegas Resort. The community is designed around a 320-acre lake and several golf courses in Henderson. "The major attraction to Lake Las Vegas Resort is the underlying concept of providing people with abundant leisure opportunities," said R. F. Boeddeker, chairman and president of Transcontinental Corp., owner/developer of the resort. "Whether it's sailing, fishing, swimming, golfing, hiking, bicycling or just relaxing, Lake Las Vegas Resort offers residents the opportunity to recreate where they live." Residents have access to a full-service marina, which offers a boat launch; lighthouse store; boat cleaning, maintenance and refreshment stocking services; new boat sales; and boat and "water toy" rentals. Residents also may relax at the private SouthShore Yacht & Beach Club, which is adjacent to the marina and features a beach, picnic and lawn area, outdoor pool and spa, fitness area, tennis and basketball facilities, private meeting room, and banquet facilities. The community also features two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses: the private 6,917-yard SouthShore Golf Club, which is open to SouthShore property owners; and Reflection Bay Golf Club, a 7,261-yard, par-72 course which is open to the public. Later this year, the Tom Weiskopf-designed The Falls Golf Club will open to the public, using water as a prominent theme to create a series of hazards. Property owners will receive preferred rates. The Tom Fazio-designed Rainbow Canyon Golf Club is scheduled to open in 2004. Other amenities include Spa Moulay, which is located at The Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort, Spa and Casino. The hotel offers 496 rooms, including 47 suites, with views of the lake and mountains, as well as a fitness center and casino. Scheduled to debut in early 2003 is the Mediterranean-themed MonteLago Village. The shopping and dining experience will be home to a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, which is also scheduled to open early 2003, and a Florentine-style bridge that will provide passage from one shore to the other and house 75 Ritz-Carlton Club level rooms. The village also will feature a spa, casino, boutiques, waterfront restaurants and cafes, office space and condominiums. Residential offerings range from custom-home sites and waterfront residences to golf villas and townhomes. SouthShore, a gated 550-acre development, offers custom-home sites in several enclaves with views of the lake, mountains and golf courses, and prices ranging from the $300,000s to more than $2 million. Also available are Italian-style waterfront villas located on a peninsula, executive homes set in the hills, and golf villas overlooking the SouthShore Golf Club. On the northern shore are three residential enclaves priced from the $400,000s to the mid-$800,000s, all adjacent to the Reflection Bay Golf Club. Along with semicustom townhomes and single-family homes, the north shore features single- and two-story fairway homes. Lake Las Vegas Resort has engaged Sotheby's International Realty, in partnership with Synthesis Realty, to market estate sites and luxury homes.
