Golf tourney to benefit Child HavenSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Local business persons are invited to sign up for the annual Links for Life charity golf tournament to be held this month at Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson. Proceeds benefit Child Haven, a division of Clark County Family and Youth Services that assists abused, abandoned and neglected children. The event will be held at SouthShore Golf Club on Monday, April 28. The four-person scramble begins at noon with a shotgun start. Dinner and a live charity auction will follow. Last year's tourney raised more than $60,000 for the agency, which used the funds to help build a play yard. "The success of this ... tournament has been instrumental in providing assistance and helping to build new facilities for the children," said Vic Donovan of tournament host Colliers International. "(We are) proud to be a part of this nonprofit organization, and we attribute the success of Links for Life to the contributions of our corporate sponsors and staff." Since 1996, the tourney has raised more than $400,000 for local children's charities. "We are so grateful to Links for Life for their generosity and support," Child Haven spokesperson Julie Ball said. "The funds raised from this tournament each year have been remarkable, and continue to make a difference in the lives of our children at Child Haven."
