Summerlin egg hunt elates kids
Residents of Summerlin, a master-planned community in the western valley, gathered recently in The Trails Park for the community's 12th annual egg hunt and to mark the seventh birthday of Summerlin Sam, the community's mascot. The egg hunt is one of nearly two dozen events planned exclusively for residents by The Summerlin Council, a nonprofit affiliate of the Summerlin Community Association. "Many of the council's events, including the egg hunt, have become traditions for Summerlin families. It just wouldn't be spring without the annual egg hunt," Lezlie Barnson-DeNardin, community relations director, said. The celebration also included games, activities, entertainment and an appearance by the Easter Bunny. Developed by The Howard Hughes Corp., Summerlin is being developed in villages and is home to several golf courses, parks, trails, schools, houses of worship, shopping and business centers, medical facilities, cultural facilities, and nearly 120 models. Single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums are priced from the high $200,000s to more than $700,000. Custom-home sites in The Ridges are priced from the $400,000s to more than $1 million. Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the low $800s. For more information, visit www.reviewjournal.com/real estate and click on the Summerlin link.
