Research leads buyers to Renaissance

Tony Compiseno's research into pool-building methods and companies led him to choose Renaissance Pools & Spas when he decided to put a pool in his yard.

"As a first-time pool-buyer, I was expecting to buy a gunite pool. Then I spoke to a friend who owned a gunite pool and it sounded like the installation process and maintenance requirements were beyond anything you would experience with the ceramic-epoxy pools sold by Renaissance," Compiseno said. "So I read the materials Renaissance gave me, watched their video presentation and ... I also looked up their business references; checked with the Better Business Bureau and found that their customer satisfaction rating was very strong. Ultimately, I felt that if everything they were saying was true, their pools were far more durable and convenient than any gunite pool."

Compiseno's research also helped convince neighbor Tony McCall to purchase a pool from the company.

"Tony told me about the research he had done, and I also became convinced that a ceramic-epoxy pool was a very sensible alternative to traditional concrete or gunite construction," McCall said.

Both said they were pleased with the service they received.

"Our pools were completed in five weeks, as opposed to the months of construction often required for a gunite pool," Compiseno said. "We were very impressed with their professionalism and their ability to complete the job in such a timely manner."

"I am equally pleased with Renaissance; the entire experience went very smoothly," McCall added. "They kept their promises and did an excellent job for us."

The company, Southern Nevada's only dealer of ceramic-epoxy pools built by Viking Pools, offers a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and finishes.

A company spokesman said the pools are made with advanced composite materials that are stronger than other pool-building materials, use less chemicals, and have a problem-resistant finish.

Prices for installed pools range from the $19,000s to the high $30,000s; financing is available. The company offers consultations and discounts to those who handle their own installation.

Each comes with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty.

The company has three showrooms, each with more than 30 indoor and outdoor displays. They are located at 1245 N. Boulder Highway in Henderson; 2180 W. Craig Road in North Las Vegas; and on Blue Diamond Road in Las Vegas.
