MacDonald Highlands hosts golf tournament

DragonRidge Country Club within the MacDonald Highlands community in Henderson recently hosted a jewel-themed Ladies Member-Guest weekend golf tournament.

Sixty-four women participated in the "horse race" tourney at the 18-hole championship course, followed by a fashion and jewelry show, as well as an awards banquet in the country club's new ballroom.

The stone and glass clubhouse features a formal dining room, two lounges, an exercise facility, swimming pool, pro shop and the new 10,000-square-foot banquet/ballroom facility.

Social membership to the clubhouse is provided upon application approval.

The guard-gated community features 1,200 acres of hillside terrain that includes the golf course, as well as three neighborhood parks that will encompass 10 acres with tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, play areas and picnic facilities. Fitness trails are planned.

Five custom-home neighborhoods are in development. The lots offer golf frontage, multi-level pads and hillside locations with views.

The home sites range from one-half acre to 3 acres. Prices start from $950,000 to $6 million.

An information center is located at 1730 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 100. To visit, take the Las Vegas Beltway to Valle Verde Drive and go south to Horizon Ridge. The office is open daily.
