Exec: Summerlin neighborhoods offer affordable homes
Summerlin offers four developments with entry-level homes and condominiums priced from less than $150,000, according to Stew Gibbons, an executive with developer The Howard Hughes Corp. "Summerlin is an affordable community, accessible for residents of all ages and incomes," Gibbons said. "Regardless of whether they live in an entry-level home or a luxury home, Summerlin residents enjoy the same amenities, including the trails, the parks, the shopping centers, the medical facilities and the community's cultural facilities." According to Gibbons, the community was designed to be inclusive since its inception. "A true community is a blend of people and opportunities," he said. "Diversity is what makes a community both enriching and interesting. With homes in a variety of price ranges, Summerlin strives to be an economically diverse community." In The Trails village, Crestdale Associates offers Deerfield, a development with condominiums that measure from 1,077 to 1,289 square feet, with prices starting from $115,600 to $128,000. KB Home is showcasing three entry-level, single-family detached designs in the community. They include Pinecrest and Pinedale in Summerlin Centre and Portofino in The Vistas village. Pinecrest and Pinedale both offer homes measuring from 967 to 1,891 square feet, while Portofino's range from 1,251 to 1,874 square feet. All three neighborhoods have homes priced from less than $150,000. Community amenities include eight golf courses, nearly 100 neighborhood and village parks, nearly 100 completed miles of trails, 16 schools, houses of worship, shopping centers, medical facilities, cultural facilities, business parks, and nearly 100 model homes. Single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $700,000. Custom lots from one-quarter acre to three-quarters of an acre are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $1 million, and predesigned custom homes are priced from $500,000 to more than $1 million. Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the high $700s. To visit the community's home finding center, take Sahara Avenue west, past Hualapai Way to Town Center Drive. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara. The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
