Vistana resident capitalizes on life in warm climate

It's been 12 years since Kevin Witwer gave up snowy winters in Cleveland and moved to Las Vegas. His new home at Vistana, a condominium development, is just what he has wanted since moving from the Midwest -- a tropical setting and palm trees.

"My new home at Vistana overlooks the second pool and spa," Witwer said. "Buying my home at Vistana truly met my dream of working less and living more. Instead of having to deal with yardwork, Vistana's maintenance-free, lush landscaping provides the tropical lifestyle without the work. It definitely makes upkeep and responsibility easier."

Witwer, a casino worker, selected the Nice floor plan, which has one bedroom and one bath in 723 square feet.

"I love the balcony entry to the Nice," he said. "My home faces north, so I have great views and affordable utility bills."

Witwer did plenty of research on the Las Vegas Valley before choosing his home in the southwestern area, where Rhodes Ranch is also under development.

"I like to watch the progression of the community around my home," he said.

Common areas at the development include a pool, two-story fitness center and spa. Another pool is under construction and a third is planned.

Each home includes an appliance package and window coverings.

Three floor plans feature one bedroom and one bath in 670 to 796 square feet. Five two-bedroom, two-bath homes range from 847 to 1,200 square feet. A single three-bedroom, two-bath floor plan, the Venice, measures 1,413 square feet.

Prices range from the mid-$70,000s to the mid-$130,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Durango Drive, go south to Warm Springs Road and follow the signs. Sales office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
