Second golf course nears completion at Red RockSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
By year's end, members of Red Rock Country Club in Summerlin will have two championship golf courses on which to test their skills. "Construction on the remaining 10 holes is on schedule, and we anticipate the construction process to be completed around the middle of May," Todd Bell, golf course superintendent, said. The new holes will not be ready for play until September or October. The first 18 holes officially opened in June 1999, and comprised nine holes apiece from the two courses. "Our members are both excited and curious about the completion of our two much-anticipated courses," Rob Blackburn, head golf professional, said. "A monumental amount of time and effort have been devoted to creating these courses, which will continue to offer some of the most exciting golf in the southwestern United States. "Our members will have access to their own private Arnold Palmer Signature course, as well as the second Arnold Palmer Signature course, which will be open for daily-fee play. "Both courses are located in the foothills of the Spring Mountains at an elevation of 3,100 feet. The rugged terrain includes canyons with 100-foot drops, hundreds of trees, strategically placed bunkers, as well as lakes, waterfalls and other hazards. The courses are complemented by a practice facility with a double-ended driving range, putting green and chipping areas." Only a few golf course home-sites remain available. "For those who want to take in the phenomenal views from the Mountain Course for a longer period of time, Red Rock Country Club has a limited number of home sites available for purchase on the eighth hole," sales executive Kevin Stall said. Member and resident amenities also include a clubhouse, sports club, tennis facility and an aquatic center. "Red Rock Country Club has the recreational amenities of a luxury resort, but it's also a quiet, private retreat for homeowners. Overlooking the famous Las Vegas skyline and nestled against the majestic Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, it's surrounded by one of the most beautiful natural areas in the American Southwest," Stall said. More than 1,100 homes will be built within the community, many of them aligning the golf courses. Priced from the $300,000s to more than $2 million, the single- and two-story homes offer as many as six bedrooms and four-car garages. Floor plans measure from 2,100 to 5,300 square feet. Customizing options include casitas, courtyard fireplaces, sit-down wet bars, as well as master retreats with media niches and fireplaces. Through Sunrise Colony Co.'s Sunsation Program, buyers customize their homes extensively. Common requests include kitchen redesigns, room expansions or conversions, construction of custom swimming pools, as well as upgraded landscaping, patio and lighting designs. A design studio is on-site. "The great benefit of the Sunsation Program is that it is available for every home purchased at Red Rock Country Club, giving every buyer the opportunity to really find everything they are looking for in the home of their dreams," Stall said. To visit, take Sahara Avenue west past Town Center Drive and follow the signs. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara and head west. The model village is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunrise Colony is also developing Siena, a guard-gated, age-qualified community in Summerlin.
