Del Webb fine-tunes customer service

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Del Webb brought its service to a new level when it launched a nine-step customer commitment program.

"We are serious about establishing a positive relationship with each of our homeowners," said Byron Jones, customer service manager. "Our goal is to provide each homeowner a complete and comprehensive orientation every step along the way to building and maintaining their new home."

The commitment, which is an expansion of a program introduced last year by parent company Pulte Homes, is practiced at Sun City Anthem, Solera at Anthem and Anthem Country Club in Henderson, as well as at Sun City Aliante in North Las Vegas. All are age-qualified communities.

The first step starts in the pre-construction phase. The steps that follow orient new-home buyers before construction is complete through quality assurance checks; a pre-closing meeting; and after-closing meetings at one-month, three months, 11 months, 18 months and 24 months.

As many as 30 people attend the pre-construction breakfast meetings, according to sales manager Jim Bond.

"No matter how many homes you may have owned before, we want this to be your best home-buying experience," he recently told a gathering of new buyers.

Faith and Max Cortez, Sun City Anthem buyers, attended the session.

"We learned in detail about the building process, how our home will be constructed and inspected, about warranties and energy-efficient features," Faith Cortez said.

"We also met our construction superintendent, who will oversee every step of our home's construction. There's a lot of comfort and security in the personal touch Del Webb provides."

The couple hails from Southern California, and will move into their new home this summer.

"We were looking for a quiet place near the advantages of a city," Cortez said. "Sun City Anthem is perfect. We are looking forward to playing golf, participating in the clubs, basically everything the community has to offer."

To visit Anthem, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past St. Rose Parkway, turn left at Anthem Parkway and then turn right at Alexandria Drive. The sales office is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To tour Sun City Aliante's model village, take U.S. Highway 95 to Centennial Parkway, exit east to Frontage Road, turn right and go to Interstate 215. Head east to Simmons Street then go north.
