KB Home, Las Vegas 51s team up for grand opening

Members of the Las Vegas 51s baseball team will stop by from noon to 3 p.m. today for the grand opening of Walnut Glen, a new KB Home neighborhood in the northeast valley.

Several players and the mascot, Cosmo, will be on hand to sign autographs and give away team merchandise.

Also, shoppers can enter a drawing for a trip for four to see the Los Angeles Dodgers play a home game, as well as tickets to see the 51s at Cashman Field.

Refreshments will be served.

Seven model homes will open. Eleven single- and two-story homes measuring from 964 to 2,038 square feet are available.

Sales have begun for the first phase of the neighborhood.

Prices start in the low $120,000s.

The neighborhood will comprise 370 homes.

"Walnut Glen offers options to fit every family's lifestyle," director of sales Renee Gervais said. "The community is priced to make home ownership affordable for first-time home buyers or for those who want a comfortable-sized home in the northeast part of Las Vegas."

The 1,391-square-foot Pistachio floor plan is the best seller, Gervais said.

The two-story residence features three bedrooms, a loft, 2 1/2 baths and a two-car garage.

Home amenities include breakfast nooks, while kitchen islands, covered patios and low-e windows are optional features.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to Craig Road, go head to Walnut Road, then turn right.

The sales office and models are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Friday, when they open at 11 a.m.

Options may be selected at the builder's 22,000-square-foot design center located at 7440 S. Industrial Road, Suite 201.

Through its Homebuyers Club and Home Finding Center, the builder offers free financial assistance, including credit reports, establishing budgets and credit counseling, and help choosing a house from its more than 20 active neighborhoods in the valley.

KB Home is one of the nation's largest home builders.

It also operates a full-service mortgage division.
