NORTH LAS VEGAS: Aliante to host Easter celebrationSPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
Aliante will host a "Dinosaur Egg Hunt" next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held in the master-planned community's Nature Discovery Park. The public is invited and admission is free. "We're inviting residents and visitors alike to come out and enjoy the wonderful springtime weather and all that Nature Discovery Park offers for people of all ages," Kimiko Peterson, community marketing manager, said. "This event will also present an opportunity for prospective home buyers to visit our beautiful model homes and experience the sense of community that is so much a part of Aliante." The Easter-themed event will include musical entertainment, a disc jockey, face painters and bounce houses. The community's roaming dinosaur will mingle with guests and there will be dinosaur-hop sack races and games. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photographs and an Easter parade through the park will be followed by contests in a variety of age groups for Best Bonnet, Best Decorated Bike and Best Decorated Stroller. Refreshments will be available for sale. North Valley Enterprises, the developer of Aliante, is the event sponsor. Nature Discovery Park was designed to introduce children to aspects of paleontology in an active play environment. The 20-acre site depicts the experience of paleontological research, blending zones that include a dino dig area, a dinosaur egg hatching area, and a mud bank wall with half-exposed ribs and a portion of a tyrannosaurus rex. For added fun, children can enter and exit the dig area through a 26-foot-high triceratops head. Also featured is a 38-foot high play structure with thatched roof huts that replicate the paleontologists' living quarters. Slides deliver the "workers" back down to the site, where flying pterodactyls provide shade. The park also features a group picnic area, an amphitheater, three soccer fields, lighted tennis courts, a volleyball stadium, horseshoe pits and bocce courts. A traditional 15-acre park will have lighted soccer, baseball and softball fields; basketball courts; shaded picnic areas; and a playground. A 10-acre park will feature basketball courts, two ball fields (which will be shared with the future Theron H. and Naomi D. Goynes Elementary School), a playground and picnic areas. To attend the festivities, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit then go south. Aliante is a 1,905-acre community that features a main and an adult village, which will collectively have as many as 7,500 homes. Builders in the main village are D.R. Horton, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. Del Webb is developing the age-qualified Sun City Aliante. Homes are priced from the $170,000s to the $500,000s. Nearly 430 acres have been designated for recreational and public purposes including the Aliante Golf Club, a municipal course. An additional elementary school and a middle school are planned. Roughly 100 acres have been set aside for commercial and retail development including a 40-acre resort hotel with gaming. North Valley Enterprises is an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Del Webb Corp. Aliante's information center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
