Visitors win prize at debut of The Springs

     Ron and Ann Mosier were among the many visitors at the recent grand opening of The Springs, where a prize drawing for a water conditioner was part of the festivities. The Mosiers were delighted to discover they held the winning entry.
      "We saw they were having a drawing for a water conditioner, but I didn't even want to fill out the entry form because I just never win," Ron Mosier said. "I was stunned when I received the phone call. Best of all, it's something we can really use."
      Sales agent Martha Flick said the grand opening of the neighborhood by Avante Homes was a success.
      "The Mosiers ... were among a huge number of people who turned out for our grand opening," Flick said. "What's really interesting is that we had already sold more than 20 percent of our homes before we even had models open."
      Single- and two-story homes range from 1,049 to 1,584 square feet with as many as three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Prices start from the high $90,000s.
      Interiors feature ceramic-tile entries; vaulted ceilings; plant shelves; and vinyl flooring in kitchens, baths and laundry rooms. Also featured are pedestal sinks in powder rooms and cultured-marble vanity tops.
      Exteriors include desert or sod-desert front- and side-yard landscaping with irrigation and enclosed rear yards with a wrought-iron gate.
      The gated neighborhood is in the northwestern valley.
      "Many of our buyers have expressed a special appreciation for the added value of having their home located within a gated community," Flick said. "Those with children really enjoy the fact that our neighborhood includes a lovely parkette with playground."
      To visit, take Jones Boulevard to Tropical Parkway, then head east to Bradley Road. Head north, past Bullring Lane, and follow the signs.
      Models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
