Land plans lure buyers to Anthem

With innovative land planning and recreational amenities, Anthem Country Club offers homeowners opportunities for fitness, fun and relaxation, according to Christopher Zell, vice president of sales and marketing.
The 24-hour guard-gated development built by Del Webb is located in Henderson.
According to Zell, home buyers praise the amount of open space at the community for giving it a retreat atmosphere.
"With the number of oversized lots and innovative land planning of the community, we provide a standard rarely seen in Las Vegas... The land planning was designed to maximize the sense of openness, so the home sites back to either the open space of the paseo trail system, golf course or natural terrain and offer breathtaking views of the Las Vegas skyline or the Black Mountain Range," Zell said.
Winding through the community is a trail system that will connect the neighborhoods to the recreational amenities. A four-acre park, The Commons, will feature event lawns and an amphitheater.
"Besides the remarkable topography, the amenities of our golf course, superb restaurants, clubhouse, salon and fitness center are designed to facilitate a healthy and exciting lifestyle for all community residents," Zell said.
The country club is situated on about 1,000 acres of the 5,000-acre master-planned community, which will include a 20-acre middle school site; a commercial center with grocery stores and restaurants; a trail system; a 55-acre city park; and landscaped common areas.
The golf course is now open for play and was designed by the team of PGA Champion Hale Irwin and golf course architect Keith Foster. The 7,300-yard, par-72 course has as many as five tee boxes to challenge all levels of players. Equity and recallable golf memberships are available.
The 13,700-square-foot athletic club is close to completion and will offer cardiovascular equipment, aerobics, swimming, basketball, sand volleyball and tennis. The athletic club will also feature a full-service salon including hair, nail, massage and facial services. Locker rooms and a pool-side cafe will be included.
The development's clubhouse will measure approximately 33,000 square feet with the grand opening planned for next year. It will feature a formal dining room, a formal board meeting room, a casual grill room, administrative offices, a golf pro shop, and private locker rooms.
There are 17 floor plans and more than 50 variations from which to choose, including second stories, basements and casitas.
Four series of homes are available in addition to custom-home sites. Floor plans range from 1,275 to 5,769 square feet, and are priced from $161,000 to $585,000.
To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past Lake Mead Drive. Sales office opens daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Del Webb builds Anthem Country Club, Sun City Summerlin and MacDonald Ranch.
