Century 21 MoneyWorld launches real estate school

     Century 21 MoneyWorld is opening a real estate school.
      Michael Donovan, broker and owner of the firm, said training is a large part of his company's philosophy, and it seemed like a natural fit to add pre-licensing training to the firm's existing training programs.
      The MoneyWorld School of Real Estate, which is located at 7380 W. Eastern Ave., requires that students be at least 17 years old.
      "Our students are diverse in age and experience. We have people from a variety of backgrounds -- marketing, business, retail, as well as those right out of high school or college. What they share is an interest in the complex and growing world of real estate and a willingness to help people make critical investment decisions," Donovan said.
      J.C. Melvin, school director, said the firm offers a 90-hour, seven-week course, which fulfills the prerequisite for receiving a real estate license in the state of Nevada.
      Melvin said he expects 80 percent of the school's graduates will pass the Nevada real estate licensing test on the first try.
      "Because of the quality of our teachers and the leading-edge curriculum we're teaching, I know our school will far surpass the 50 percent average," he said.
      The two instructors hold law degrees.
      "Our classes focus on learning real estate principles and practice, real estate law and ethics and Nevada state law and regulations," Melvin said. "The backgrounds and expertise of our instructors are top rate and take our program to a level not offered elsewhere."
      Donovan said the new school is a benefit to the growing Las Vegas real estate community and to his company.
      "While graduation from the program doesn't guarantee a position at Century 21 MoneyWorld, we will look very favorably upon those graduates," he said.
      He said agents who pass the real estate test, obtain their license and are hired at the firm will be reimbursed the cost of tuition.
      Classes at the school are offered daily from 9 a.m. to noon, and from 6 to 9 p.m.
      Century 21 MoneyWorld has three locations in the Las Vegas Valley: on the west side at 6431 W. Sahara Ave., Suite 100; in Green Valley at 375 N. Stephanie St.; and in Henderson at 18 S. Water St. Century 21 has 5,000 affiliate offices nationally and 6,500 worldwide. Century 21 MoneyWorld is ranked ninth among all Century 21 firms in terms of gross closed commissions.
