Best friends to become neighbors in Serenata

Not long after Darlena Kern purchased her first home from Pulte Homes, her best friends decided to move into the Serenata neighborhood where she now lives.

"My best friends, Jackie and Richard Pilcher, are moving into Serenata in July," Kern said. "In the meantime, they're so excited, they keep riding their bikes through the community, checking the progress of their home.

"I've lived in Las Vegas since 1970 and have always lived in the east or southeast, but I wanted a complete change, and Aliante provided me with that change. The plans for the community are amazing; the opportunity to get in on the ground floor has already proved to be a great value."

Kern chose the neighborhood's largest plan, which measures 2,665 square feet.

"My new home is elegant and open; the space is not chopped up," she said.

Plan 2665 features three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, formal living and dining rooms, a family room, den and three-car tandem garage. The home may include as many as five bedrooms and offers three elevation options.

The Pilchers purchased the Plan 2594, which has four bedrooms, 3 1/2 bath, a family room, dining room, den or fifth bedroom, and two-car garage. The master bedroom is separate from the others.

Serenata features two additional plans measuring 1,881 and 2,299 square feet, respectively.

Prices start from the mid-$450,000s.

Aliante offers amenities such as the 20-acre Nature Discovery Park, a group picnic area, amphitheater, soccer fields, and tennis and volleyball courts. There also is an 18-hole public golf course.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit then go south.

The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and until 6 p.m. starting Sunday. It opens at noon Mondays.

All homes are Energy Star-certified by the Environmental Protection Agency and use Environments For Living building technology. They also offer a three-year heating and cooling energy-use guarantee.
