Manhattan preview announced

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

Gemstone Development will begin making appointments on Monday for potential buyers to preview the Manhattan Condominiums complex it will build on South Las Vegas Boulevard at Serene Avenue.

"This project is one-of-a-kind to the Las Vegas market," Alexander Edelstein, co-founder of the development firm, said. "We're looking forward to bringing prospective buyers to our presentation and giving them a chance to select their dream home."

Appointments can be made through the development's Web site at www.manhattanlv.com.

The complex will comprise 600 units among eight buildings. One-, two- and three-bedroom units plus penthouse lofts are available, measuring from 900 to 1,800 square feet. Prices start from $149,000 to more than $400,000.

Standard features will include granite counter tops, natural wood cabinetry and walk-in closets.

Residents will receive membership to the private Manhattan Club, which will feature a lounge, swimming pool, screening room and business center in addition to a fitness facility with workout equipment, a sauna and steam room, and an aerobics studio. Outside will be a basketball court, lighted swimming pool, spa and tennis courts.

Planned amenities also will include the landscaped Central Park, a multimillion dollar clubhouse, concierge service and wireless Internet connectivity.

"This is the first wireless condominium community," Edelstein said.

"Providing efficient Internet access fits our urban vision of making it easier for residents to manage their time. Whether sitting on the grass in one of Central Park's meadows, or hanging out by the pool, residents will be connected."

Company co-founder Philippe Pageau-Goyette said the new development represents an ideal mix of luxury and location.

"One of our design mantras is `oasis and access.' Sitting in our Central Park, guests of our residents will never guess that they're just a few minutes from (McCarran International) Airport and the center of the Strip," Pageau-Goyette said.

Gemstone Development also builds in California.
