Buyer at Turnberry Towers captures construction process on film
SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
With her camera in hand, Gloria Cherchio has captured on film the construction of Turnberry Towers, a dual 45-story building condominium development at Paradise Road and Karen Avenue.
The North Las Vegas resident and her husband, Richard, purchased a unit in the project's east tower. She has taken photographs of the site every week since June, when construction began.

"I go to the top of the monorail at the Sahara hotel-casino and take lots of pictures of each side of the building," said Cherchio, whose hobby is photography. "Once I take the photos, I put them all on my computer and document the step-by-step progress of the tower. It's very exciting."
In addition to documenting the rise of the east tower, Cherchio has collected images of the excavation work for the west tower and the construction of the multi-story parking structure.
"Now that the parking structure is increasing in height, I might have to find a new spot to shoot from so I can see the entire tower from the ground up," she said.
Richard Cherchio said he and his wife chose Turnberry Towers because of developer Turnberry Associates' track record.
"Quality workmanship and attention to detail is very important to me, which are additional reasons we purchased at Turnberry Towers," he said. "The way Turnberry Towers is set up is perfect for us. When you drive through the gated entry it's very private, and the sales staff has been wonderful."
The couple moved to Southern Nevada from Florida in 2001.
"A big issue for us in Las Vegas has been the traffic," said Richard Cherchio, who retired after 25 years with the U.S. Postal Service. "Turnberry Towers is a block from the Strip, so we'll be close to all the best restaurants, shops and entertainment. Plus, our family can visit and have a convenient place to stay."
They purchased a two-bedroom residence on the 34th floor, which occupies the entire floor with views of the city and mountains.
Also available is a one-bedroom, 1 1/2-bath unit with a kitchen and counter bar that opens to the great room.
The two-bedroom, two-bath floor plan features a den and floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize views.
Situated on the top 12 floors of the towers are three-bedroom residences, each with an oversized balcony that overlooks the Strip.
All units will be equipped with Smart Home technology.
Additionally, each tower will feature a fitness facility, an outdoor pool, landscaping, tennis, valet and 24-hour security.
The development will comprise 636 units, priced from $550,000 to more than $1.3 million.
All buyers will receive a two-year membership, which includes monthly dues, to the Stirling Club. The club features casual and fine dining, an anti-aging spa, a fitness center, Pilates studio, beauty salon, spas, saunas, steam baths, and an indoor lap pool. Additionally, the club offers members a nightclub with live jazz, a piano lounge, cigar room, tennis courts and an outdoor mosaic pool.
The sales office is located at 222 Karen Ave., and features a 1,658-square-foot furnished model. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
