Stonehaven models near completion in Henderson

Stonehaven, the only semicustom home neighborhood in MacDonald Highlands, is under construction and expected to open by early summer.
The Toll Bros. community is located adjacent to DragonRidge Golf Club, an 18-hole championship golf course, and has been generating considerable interest, according to Gary Mayo, vice president/division manager.
"Visitor traffic at Stonehaven has been phenomenal, as strong as any of our neighborhoods in the Las Vegas Valley," he said. "This is unusual considering our models are under construction."
Two homes have been sold, according to Mayo.
Stonehaven offers single- and two-story models with options such as stone exteriors and casitas. The homes offer between 3,000 to 4,000 square feet, with prices ranging from $365,000 to $450,000.
MacDonald Highlands is nestled in the McCullough Mountains along the southeastern rim of the Las Vegas Valley. Other than Stonehaven, the home sites there range from one-third acre to 2 acres.
The 1,200-acre community will feature about 500 homes in 17 neighborhoods. Custom-home sites are available with city, mountain, hillside and golf course views and are priced from $135,000 to more than $1 million. Custom lots in the current phase of development include one-third acre to one-half acre sites priced from $135,000 to $650,000.
DragonRidge will open for play in May, while the permanent 26,000-square-foot clubhouse is scheduled to open in fall 2001. Plans include a pro shop, an exercise facility, outdoor swimming pool, dining room, and separate grill and lounge.
MacDonald Highlands also will offer three neighborhood parks that will encompass a combined 10 acres and feature tennis and volleyball courts, a play area, and picnic facilities. Five miles of trails will meander throughout the community and provide access to nature trails that lead into the mountains.
To visit, take Lake Mead Drive to Valle Verde Drive, turn south and proceed to Horizon Ridge Parkway. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
