Retirement a family affair at Sun City
Neil and Susan Ludvigson are delighted with their home at Sun City MacDonald Ranch. So much so, in fact, that they have convinced several of their relatives to move to the age-qualified community in Henderson.
"We are from Wallingford, Pa.," Neil Ludvigson said. "After living at Sun City MacDonald Ranch, with all the amenities and social opportunities it offers, we convinced my brother-in-law and his wife in Vienna, Va., to move out.
"Now, my other brother-in-law, who retires in May, is moving here from Minnesota. And, of course, I tell my friends back east they should move to Nevada and buy a Del Webb home."
The Ludvigsons searched nationwide for a place to retire before choosing Nevada.
"I visited communities for seven years before retiring in 1997," Ludvigson said. "I went to Arizona, North Carolina, South Carolina, California, you name it. We selected Nevada as the place to be ..."
The community's social environment was also a factor in the couple's buying decision.
"The best part is the friendliness of our neighbors," Ludvigson said. "It's easy to get to know people here."
Nine floor plans are available, ranging from 1,020 to 2,014 square feet. Prices start from the low $120,000s to the mid-$190,000s.
To visit, take Lake Mead Drive to Green Valley Parkway and go south. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
