MacDonald Highlands offers estate homes with city, mountain views

MacDonald Highlands, a luxury community located in Henderson, features multi-million dollar mansions, according to Rich MacDonald, developer.

"It is truly exhilarating to drive through the community and see the stunning estates that property owners are creating," he said. "Average square footage is running about 8,000 square feet with some owners constructing over 25- to 35,000-square-foot mansions.

"Each home was built by a different builder, and some of the estates are built into the hillsides while others offer golf course frontage on DragonRidge, the private golf course within the development."

The Orient Express estate measures 8,920 square feet. Featuring an Asian influence, the home is constructed within three levels. The design allows for extensive city views and a great-room layout with an adult lounge, entertainment center, wet bar and 12-foot wide fireplace. Highlights include disappearing walls, a movie theater and second-level swimming pool. The home is priced at $4.95 million.

The home is priced at $3.96 million.

The 6,422-square-foot Villa Bella showcases a waterfall swimming pool and spa that can be seen through a disappearing wall. Situated on one-half acre, the home contains decorative ceilings, archways and hardwood floors. MacDonald Highlands' guard-gated community features 1,200 acres of hillside terrain including the DragonRidge golf course and three neighborhood parks that will encompass 10 acres and include tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, playgrounds and picnic facilities.

Also planned are five miles of fitness trails that will meander throughout the community and provide access to nature trails that lead into the surrounding McCullough Mountains.
