Air Force veteran buys Vistana condo
Air Force Sgt. Paul Elliott was familiar with the benefits of owning his own home when he discovered the tropical, resort-style condominium development of Vistana in the southwestern valley. Elliott, a 12-year resident who served at Nellis Air Force Base, had been paying rent on a one-bedroom apartment until he purchased the Nice floor plan at Rhodes Homes' Rhodes Ranch community. "I was looking for something special, however everything seemed too expensive for my lifestyle. I was pleased to discover a bigger and nicer home for less money at Vistana," Elliott said. "The size of the living room really impressed me. The entire floor plan provides plenty of space for me. I also selected the optional garage because it is finished at Vistana while I was using an unfinished garage at the apartment complex." Elliott's home features one bedroom, one bath and 723 square feet and is priced from $78,800. Pride in homeownership also influenced Elliott's purchasing decision. "Owning your own home allows you to build equity where you live instead of giving the money away to your landlord. Owning my new home at Vistana is a big step towards providing for my long-term future," he said. Nine models are offered, priced from the $70,000s to more than $100,000. Three floor plans feature one bedroom and one bath and range from 670 to 796 square feet, and five two-bedroom and two-bath homes measure from 847 to 1,200 square feet. The Venice, with three bedrooms and three baths, provides 1,413 square feet. Each condo includes an appliance package and access to the community's recreation center. Three swimming pools are planned. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Durango Drive, then go south to Warm Springs Road. The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
