Law enforcement officer chooses Hidden Springs
Dana and Dano Giersdorf discovered a home that was the perfect fit for their family at Hidden Springs in the northwestern valley. "We knew, for instance, that we wanted to be on this side of town," said Dano Giersdorf, who works in law enforcement. "Not only are both of our jobs in this area, but we've always preferred to be near the edge of town where things seem to move at a slightly slower pace." After looking at more than 20 model homes, the Giersdorfs selected a two-story home at the Beazer Homes neighborhood in Spring Mountain Ranch to accommodate their family, which includes their children Kalif and Talyn. "We really loved the floor plan at Hidden Springs the minute we saw it. There were some other models we thought were nice in other neighborhoods, but the builders just weren't willing to work with us like the folks at Beazer," Dana Giersdorf said. "I was very pleased to discover the laundry room on the second floor. Let's face it, that's where 90 percent of the laundry is generated, it just makes sense to have that additional convenience." The neighborhood offers six one- and two-story floor plans, priced from the mid-$150,000s. The homes range from 1,843 to 2,700 square feet and offer as many as four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a three-car garage. Home sites can accommodate RV parking. The designs offer dens, fireplaces, French doors, game rooms and skylights. Standard features include Corian kitchen counter tops, oak cabinets, cultured-marble bath vanities, and six-panel doors. The neighborhood parks and atmosphere also impressed the Giersdorfs. "We already know almost all of our neighbors, and they're all extremely nice, very neighborly," Dano Giersdorf said. To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Durango Drive, head east to El Capitan Way then turn north. Office hours are daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In the southwestern valley, the builder has opened its newest neighborhood, Brasado at Southern Highlands. Priced from the high $170,000s, the neighborhood offers five floor plans, some with as many as five bedrooms. To visit, take Interstate 15 to Lake Mead Drive and go west, following the signs.
