Buyer fulfills lifelong dream of ownership at Corte Madera
Santos Vidurre came to Las Vegas by way of Los Angeles from her native El Salvador. Since coming to the United States 25 years ago, Vidurre has dreamed of owning a home. For six years, she worked as a food runner in a casino and spent her days off looking for an affordable new home. Two weeks ago, her efforts paid off when she purchased a townhome at Corte Madera, a Perennial Homes development in North Las Vegas. "My dreams were always to own my own home in the United States," Vidurre said. "Los Angeles was too expensive for me to afford a home. That is why I moved to Las Vegas, found a good job and worked to save for my home. Corte Madera provided me with a great opportunity to buy my own home." Equally delighted is her 10-year-old daughter, Rosie. "She's proud to know it's her house, too," Vidurre said. "She's very excited to have her own room with plenty of space." Vidurre said the builder's representatives put her at ease by communicating with her in Spanish. "Everybody was very helpful to make sure all my questions were answered about my new home," she said. "I am so excited to finally own my own home." The townhomes, which feature a 10-year residential warranty and a one-year wall-to-wall builder warranty, are expected to be sold out within 30 days, according to sales agent Jim Hawkins. "The homes are moving quick," he said. "We are making dreams a reality for many Las Vegas home buyers." There are two floor plans available, each with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths in a two-story design. The Mesa Verde plan, which measures 1,226 square feet, features a two-car garage and is priced from $105,990. The Sedona, a 1,230-square-foot residence, has an attached one-car garage. It is priced from $98,990. All townhomes include a refrigerator, washer, dryer, window coverings, security system and garage door opener. Shared amenities include a recreation center and swimming pool. To visit, take Rancho Drive to Lake Mead Drive and turn east. Proceed to Simmons Street, head south to Coran Lane then go east, following the signs. The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
