Military veteran chooses new residence at Sun City Aliante

Mark Curley was not looking for a new home when he discovered Del Webb's Sun City Aliante in North Las Vegas.

"I'm a Vietnam veteran and one day I attended an air show that was dedicated to Vietnam veterans at Nellis Air Force Base," he said. "On my way to the show, while driving along (the Las Vegas Beltway), I noticed Aliante and decided to drive in and have a look."

"I was pleased to see that Sun City Aliante was being built in this community, because for some time I had been thinking about moving into an age-qualified neighborhood, although I was too young to do so until recently. Then I walked into the Laurel model and knew it was the home for me," Curley said.

The Laurel design is a single-story home with two bedrooms, a den, two baths and 1,576 square feet of living space. The home features a great room, open kitchen with dining nook and a two-car garage. An optional rear patio and a detached casita with a full bath are also offered.

"This is a perfect home for me," Curley said. "The floor plan is spacious, yet convenient and the level of energy efficiency incorporated in the home is very impressive. I also knew that Pulte and Del Webb had excellent reputations for building quality homes and neighborhoods."

The Aliante master plan encompasses 1,905 acres, and consists of an all-ages village and an age-qualified village.

"My former home was in a master-planned community, and I appreciate the benefits associated with master-planned living," Curley said. "I think Aliante is comparable to the finest master plans."

Nearly 430 acres are designated for recreational and public use including the golf course, three parks and 24 miles of trails and linear parks. One hundred acres are earmarked for commercial development.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 north to the Interstate 215 (Las Vegas Beltway) East exit. Make a right onto Sky Pointe Drive, a right onto Frontage Road, and left onto the Beltway. Head east to the Aliante Parkway exit then go north.
